Unveiling the Next Generation: Completion of the Second Yak-130M Prototype!
The initial Yak-130M prototype has recently been constructed at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. This prototype will concentrate on ground and flight evaluations.
«The Yak-130M was designed based on the insights and successful methodologies regarding aviation engagement in local and regional confrontations. The development of lightweight combat aircraft derived from combat trainers aligns with global advancements in military aviation,» stated Dmitry Popov, the Deputy Chief Designer for the Yak-130 program.
The Yak-130M is an evolution of the Yak-130 model, with its features allowing for the training of pilots for fourth and fifth generation fighters. The core aim of the upgrades is to enhance the aircraft’s combat capabilities. The modified aircraft has the ability to carry air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles.
The incorporation of advanced onboard systems will permit the Yak-130M to operate for training and combat objectives at any time and under challenging weather conditions. As a result, the aircraft is now equipped with an BRLS-130R airborne radar, an SOLT-130K optical-laser-IR imaging component, a “President-S130” defense system, and a KSS-130 communication package.
