ASELSAN’s YILDIRIM 100: A Game Changer in Counteracting Infrared Missile Threats!
ASELSAN has successfully completed the assessment of the YILDIRIM 100 Directed Infrared Countermeasure (DIRCM) System, effectively deflecting live infrared-guided missiles equipped with warheads. This achievement highlighted ASELSAN’s unique ability to protect aerial platforms.
ASELSAN, Türkiye’s leading defense corporation, is continuously advancing the security of aerial assets using cutting-edge, domestically developed technologies. With the successful assessment of YILDIRIM 100, Türkiye has attained a significant milestone in laser-based countermeasure advancements, a field dominated by only a few nations worldwide.
Throughout the assessment, YILDIRIM 100 demonstrated its capability to neutralize threats from infrared-guided missiles by directing multi-band laser energy towards their seekers. As a ready-to-use solution for modern aerial combat situations, YILDIRIM 100 will serve as a force multiplier on the battlefield, requiring minimal power consumption and exhibiting high operational readiness.
With the capability to detect, track, and neutralize multiple threats concurrently, the YILDIRIM 100 system utilizes multi-band laser technology to jam and blind the seekers of infrared-guided missiles, ensuring effective self-protection for both rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft. Its dual-turret setup, advanced sensors, and integrated control module enable swift, coordinated responses and smooth communication with missile warning systems. Fully adaptable to various platforms, YILDIRIM 100 is specifically designed to address both existing and emerging missile threats.
Reflecting on this achievement, ASELSAN President & CEO Ahmet Akyol stated: “With the successful evaluation of YILDIRIM 100, we take great pride in advancing our nation’s air defense capabilities to the forefront alongside the world’s leading powers. As we celebrate ASELSAN’s 50th anniversary, this accomplishment signifies our indigenous technological expertise and steadfast commitment to innovation. We will continue to develop revolutionary systems that meet the evolving requirements of the contemporary battlefield.”
