Bahrain Elevates Aerial Strength with Acquisition of 9 State-of-the-Art Airbus H145 Helicopters

Airbus Helicopters has sealed a contract with His Excellency, Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior of Bahrain, for the procurement of nine H145 helicopters. These flying machines will serve the Police Aviation Command for law enforcement activities and emergency medical assistance within the kingdom.

“We are immensely honored by the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain choosing us to become part of the global H145 family,” remarked Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President for Global Business at Airbus Helicopters.

“We firmly believe that the H145 will quickly establish itself as a vital new asset for the Bahraini police force. As a highly versatile multi-role helicopter, the flexibility of the H145 makes it an indispensable resource for public safety efforts both regionally and globally. Presently, over 60 H145s are in operation across the Middle East, and the demand for this helicopter model is rapidly increasing amidst various missions: emergency medical assistance, energy sector operations, law enforcement endeavors, and utility tasks,” he elaborated.

The latest model of Airbus’ best-selling H145 light twin-engine helicopter features an advanced five-bladed rotor in the multi-mission aircraft, enhancing the payload capability of the helicopter by 150kg. The streamlined design of the new bearingless main rotor also simplifies maintenance, further improving the outstanding serviceability and reliability of the H145, while ensuring comfort for both passengers and crew members.

In total, upwards of 1,700 helicopters from the H145 family are in service, amassing an impressive eight million flight hours. Powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines, the H145 comes fitted with full authority digital engine control (FADEC) along with the Helionix digital avionics system. It boasts a high-performance 4-axis autopilot, enhancing safety while reducing the pilot’s workload. Its remarkably low acoustic profile positions the H145 as the quietest helicopter in its class, with CO2 emissions that rank among the lowest compared to its competitors.
