“Alliance in Action: Lockheed Martin and Anduril Unite to Tackle Drone Threats Across the Middle East”

Lockheed Martin has seamlessly integrated the Q-53 multi-mission radar (MMR) with Anduril’s Lattice Command and Control (C2) ecosystem during the U.S. Central Command Desert Guardian exercise held at Fort Drum earlier this month. Desert Guardian forms part of a series of drills aimed at bridging essential gaps in its capability to detect and monitor drone threats.

“The successful amalgamation of the Q-53 MMR and Lattice illustrates Lockheed Martin’s valued collaboration with the U.S. Government and industry partners, empowering us to deliver personalized solutions for our clients,” remarked David Kenneweg, director of Multi-mission Air Defense Radars at Lockheed Martin. “At Desert Guardian, we were able to work together to uncover customer needs as we continue to advance the technology critical for identifying and countering emerging threats, facilitating smarter, faster decision-making.”

During Desert Guardian, Lockheed Martin’s Q-53 MMR rapidly merged into the Lattice C2 Network and relayed information to Lattice to create and produce a consolidated air picture. This integration highlighted the capability to significantly enhance the overall operational environment, fostering more informed and prompt decision-making within a streamlined framework.

“We are adapting to fulfill our customers’ missions and advancing capabilities that will boost operators’ effectiveness; we will persist in our partnership with the Department of Defense to tackle and resolve shared urgent operational requirements,” stated Kenneweg.

Lockheed Martin is leveraging the successes of Desert Guardian and preparing for an upcoming exercise, coordinated by CENTCOM, set to take place at a base in the Middle East. The company’s multi-domain expertise will aid their clients in integrating sensors into a unified interface utilized by field operators.
