Airbus Corporate Jets Celebrates Milestone with First Order of Two A321LR Aircraft!

Toulouse, 14th August 2020 – Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) proudly announces its inaugural order for two A321LR aircraft from Lufthansa Technik, showcasing the impressive versatility of the A320neo Family. These aircraft are designed for multi-role operations, equipped for various missions, including troop transport and diverse MedEvac roles, and will be utilized by the German Air Force (Luftwaffe). In total, Lufthansa Technik has ordered five Airbus aircraft on behalf of the German Government, comprising three ACJ350-900s and two A321LRs. The A321LRs can accommodate up to 163 passengers, or transport up to 6 intensive care patients and 12 medium care patients, with an impressive maximum range of 4,200 nautical miles (7,800 km) or 9.5 hours of flight time.

“We are excited to welcome Lufthansa Technik as the launch customer for the ACJ long-range version of the world’s best-selling A321neo,” stated Benoit Defforge, ACJ President. “The ACJ320 Family offers the most spacious cabin among single-aisle aircraft, ensuring unparalleled passenger comfort along with intercontinental reach. Our longstanding relationship with Lufthansa Technik and the German Government culminates in this significant milestone for Airbus.”

The A321LR, a proud member of the A320neo Family, boasts over 7,400 orders from more than 110 customers. This advanced aircraft achieves remarkable fuel efficiency, delivering a 30% reduction in fuel consumption and nearly 50% less noise compared to older generation competitors. With a remarkable range of up to 4,000 nautical miles (7,400 km) while accommodating 206 passengers, the A321LR stands unparalleled as a long-range option, embodying true transatlantic capability and wide-body comfort in a single-aisle cabin.

With cabins that offer unmatched spaciousness among business jets, the ACJ320neo Family competes effectively with large-cabin aircraft, maintaining economical operating costs. This efficiency stems from lower maintenance and training costs derived from its airliner lineage, resulting in a competitive total cost of ownership when accounting for fuel, navigation, and landing fees.

With around 12,000 Airbus aircraft in active service globally, supported by an extensive network of spare parts and training centers, corporate jet customers receive unparalleled operational support. Additionally, Airbus corporate jet clients benefit from tailored services to meet their specific needs, exemplified by the “one call handles all” customer care center (C4you) and customized maintenance strategies.

Combining reliability with ACJ320neo Family’s design, built for frequent operations, ensures dependability and availability when customers require it most.

Airbus corporate jets represent the pinnacle of modern aviation technology, offering standard features that competitors often charge extra for or lack altogether. These include the safety and simplicity of fly-by-wire controls, the advantages of Category 3B autoland, and time-saving, centralized maintenance across all systems.

Over 200 Airbus corporate jets are currently in service worldwide, including remote locations like Antarctica, demonstrating their remarkable versatility across diverse environments.
