Airbus Unveils Seventh H145 for German Military’s Lifesaving Search and Rescue Operations

Airbus Helicopters has successfully delivered the seventh and final H145 for the search and rescue (SAR) operations of the Bundeswehr to the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) on schedule. The previously supplied helicopters are utilized for training and field evaluations, ensuring availability around the clock at the Niederstetten and Nörvenich air bases for rescue missions. Operations with the innovative H145 LUH SAR will commence shortly at the third SAR station located in Holzdorf as planned.

“We are delighted to have completed this assignment from inception to conclusion on time and within the allocated budget, with the implementation proceeding as scheduled,” stated Wolfgang Schoder, CEO of Airbus Helicopters Germany. “The responses we have received from our clients have been overwhelmingly positive. Due to their adaptability and exceptional availability, the helicopters from the H145 family have excelled in the Bundeswehr. We envision significantly more applications for a diverse array of operations across all branches of the military with this reliable model.”

Equipped with state-of-the-art cameras, searchlights, emergency beacon locating systems, a comprehensive range of medical apparatus, rescue winches, and load hooks suitable for fire-extinguishing tanks, the helicopters boast numerous features. Their distinctive bright orange paint and blue ‘SAR’ lettering on their doors make them easily identifiable.
