Aitech Group Partners with Boeing for MQ-25 Development Collaboration
Chatsworth, Calif. – May 2019
Aitech Defense Systems, Inc., a key player in the Aitech Group, has secured a significant contract with The Boeing Company to deliver essential mission interface systems for the MQ-25 unmanned aerial refueling program.
CEO’s Insights on Collaboration
Moshe Tal, CEO of Aitech Group in North America, emphasized the importance of precision electronics and collaboration. “The success of the unmanned MQ-25 Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) test aircraft hinges on these factors,” he stated.
Tal added, “We take pride in our commitment to support Boeing and the MQ-25’s production. Aerial refueling is a pivotal task, and this innovative technology will significantly enhance the operational range of Navy combat strike fighters engaged in refueling missions.”
Innovative Solutions for Aerial Refueling
Aitech is supplying Boeing with an advanced, tailored remote I/O interface controller, derived from the commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) Ai-RIO remote interface product.
The MQ-25 Program: A Strategic Shift for the U.S. Navy
The MQ-25 is recognized as the U.S. Navy’s first operational carrier-based unmanned aircraft, specifically designed to deliver essential refueling capabilities. This contract underpins Boeing’s engineering and manufacturing development program to produce four MQ-25 aircraft for the U.S. Navy, targeting Initial Operational Capability by 2024.
Future Implications of the MQ-25
Dave Bujold, Boeing’s MQ-25 program director, reiterated the program’s significance: “The MQ-25 initiative is crucial for extending the operational range of the carrier air wing. Our team at Boeing is fully committed to delivering this capability.” He noted that the project lays the groundwork for Boeing’s future in designing autonomous systems across a variety of fields, from seabed operations to space exploration.
