Qatar’s F-15QA Team: Boeing Secures Contract for Comprehensive Aircrew and Maintenance Training Initiative

Boeing has secured a substantial $500 million contract to provide essential services for Qatar’s F-15QA aircraft, with the first three units scheduled for delivery in 2021.

This agreement, announced by the Department of Defense on Wednesday, includes comprehensive aircrew and maintenance training aimed at bolstering the capabilities of the Qatar Emiri Air Force.

Previously, in 2017, Boeing was awarded a significant $6.1 billion contract to manufacture 36 F-16QA aircraft for the Qatar Air Force. This came after the State Department sanctioned a potential $21.1 billion deal for 72 aircraft the year prior.

Boeing remains the exclusive contractor for Qatar’s F-16 program, diligently working on support services since the State Department authorized a $1.1 billion foreign military sale for these services just a month before the production contract was finalized.

According to reports from The National Interest in July, the delivery of the first batch of six F-16s is anticipated in March 2021, with an additional six set to arrive three months later.

With this new contract, Boeing has committed $262 million to initiate the support program in St. Louis, Missouri.

The support program is planned to transition from Missouri to Qatar in 2021, with an expected completion date of August 2026.
