Bahrain Honors Milestone with Inaugural AH-1Z Aircraft Unveiling

Bell welcomed a delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain to celebrate the initiation of production for AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, constructed under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. The delegates explored the Bell Amarillo manufacturing facility to view the production line and ceremoniously sign the aircraft’s frame that will serve with the Bahrain Air Force.

“We are privileged to host the Kingdom of Bahrain and commemorate this significant production milestone for the AH-1Z,” stated Mike Deslatte, Bell H-1 Vice President and Program Director. “Today’s event illustrates a pivotal moment in advancing the sophisticated capabilities of the Viper closer to the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

Bell engineered the AH-1Z Viper to fulfill the contemporary battlefield’s expeditionary demands across the complete range of military operations. The Viper consistently maintains a high operational tempo from forward bases by reducing its logistical footprint while retaining its combat capabilities.

“This occasion also highlights the commitment of thousands of Bell and Team Viper personnel globally who take pride in supporting our international allies,” remarked Deslatte.

The Department of Defense granted Bell a contract to produce and deliver 12 Lot-16 AH-1Z aircraft to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bell anticipates that production deliveries will commence in late 2021.
