Bell Unveils Historic Deal to Deliver Europe’s First Subaru-Bound 412EPXs

Bell Textron Inc., a subsidiary of Textron Inc., announced today a finalized acquisition agreement for two SUBARU Bell 412EPX helicopters for the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Croatia. This represents a notable achievement in the region, as it is the premier acquisition agreement for SUBARU Bell 412 EPXs in Europe. The aircraft is slated for delivery in October 2023.

“The SUBARU Bell 412EPX enhances payload capacity on the globally recognized Bell 412 platform, and this agreement further elevates its prestigious standing,” remarked Duncan Van De Velde, Bell’s managing director for Europe. “We are excited to introduce the most advanced iteration of the Bell 412 platform to a European client and to demonstrate its capabilities.”

The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia is responsible for responsibilities associated with criminal, border, and specialized police operations, as well as duties related to civil safety, fire response, fire prevention, the manufacturing and commerce of explosive materials and weapons, private security, investigative matters, and mine clearance.

“The Ministry of Interior takes pride in being the inaugural European client to finalize a procurement agreement for the SUBARU Bell 412EPX,” stated Ph.D. Davor Božinovic, Minister of Interior of Croatia. “We anticipate leveraging its exceptional features and resilience to safeguard and serve the citizens of Croatia.”

Certified in 2018, the SUBARU BELL 412EPX boasts a maximum internal weight of 12,200 lbs, external weight of 13,000 lbs, and can handle up to 5,000 lbs of cargo via a hook. This aircraft facilitates extensive transportation of cargo and personnel, with a capacity to carry as much as 5,385 lbs. The Bell 412EPX also benefits from a robust main rotor gearbox dry run capability and enhanced mast torque output at speeds under 60 knots, enabling operators to transport additional supplies and conduct operations with greater efficiency.
