Rostec Launches Cutting-Edge Ammo Facility in Venezuela: A Leap for National Security

The facility will manufacture up to 70 million cartridges annually, significantly surpassing the national defense potential

Rostec’s Rosoboronexport has finalized phase I of the cartridge manufacturing facility for producing 7.62mm cartridges intended for Kalashnikov assault rifles in Venezuela. The facility will produce up to 70 million cartridges each year, which will significantly surpass the nation’s defense capacities, supplying Venezuela with locally-produced ammunition.

“Phase I of the Kalashnikov cartridge production facility in Venezuela includes four advanced manufacturing lines. Two of these lines are intended for ammunition using steel core projectiles, while the other two lines are tailored for tracer and blank rounds. Plans are underway to activate additional production facilities in the near future to ensure a complete production cycle of cartridges and Kalashnikov assault rifles for the national military, police forces, and various law enforcement agencies. This marks a crucial milestone in fostering technological collaboration with our primary partner in Latin America,” stated Oleg Evtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec State Corporation.

Each manufacturing line is capable of producing tens of thousands of cartridges per shift. The testing program conducted at a quality control station validated the excellence and conformity of the products.
