Boeing Secures $24 Million Deal to Enhance Apache Helicopter Capabilities

Boeing Co., a leading player in the aerospace industry, has secured a contract for logistics support related to the AH-64D/E Apache attack helicopter. This update comes from a recent press release by the U.S. Department of Defense.

This contract modification is valued at nearly $24.1 million and pertains to operations based in Mesa, Arizona, with an anticipated completion date set for May 31, 2025.

According to the U.S. Army Contracting Command, located in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, this is the primary contracting authority for this agreement.

The U.S. Army’s official website highlights the Apache AH-64D/E as a formidable attack helicopter rugged enough to neutralize armor, personnel, and material targets effectively, even in low-visibility battlefield conditions.

Currently, the Army Aviation fleet consists of both AH-64D Longbow and AH-64E Apache models. These helicopters are deployed within Active Army and Army National Guard armed reconnaissance battalions and cavalry units. The Apache helicopter is meticulously designed to provide comprehensive support for Brigade Combat Teams engaged in diverse combat scenarios.

This iconic aircraft features a twin-engine, four-blade tandem-seat design and is outfitted with a range of advanced weaponry, including an M230 30-mm cannon, Hydra-70 2.75-inch rockets, and HELLFIRE missiles (available in both laser-guided and radio frequency variants).
