Boeing Unveils Plans for 21 Additional E-Model Apache Helicopters!
Boeing secured a contract amendment on Friday to manufacture an extra 21 AH-64E Apaches for the U.S. Army and an overseas client. This grant, from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), is an amendment to the long-term agreement granted to Boeing in March 2023, raising the total quantity of Apaches to be produced under this contract to 205.
“These additional E-model Apaches further validate the necessity for this aircraft. The Apache is the most reliable and sophisticated attack helicopter that delivers unparalleled capabilities for armed forces,” stated Christina Upah, vice president of Attack Helicopter Programs and senior Boeing Mesa site executive. “We are delighted to continue supplying our U.S. and international partners with the finest attack helicopter globally.”
Under this agreement awarded in March 2023, the U.S. Army will obtain an additional five refurbished E-model Apaches, while 16 AH-64Es will be manufactured for an international operator as part of the DoD’s Foreign Military Sales initiative. Boeing Global Services will persist in ensuring optimal readiness for the warfighter, offering training systems, spare parts, support equipment kits, depot assistance, field engineering, and technical manuals.
