Boeing Introduces Cutting-Edge F-15 Fighters for Qatar
Boeing, in partnership with the U.S. Air Force and Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF), commemorated the designation and unveiling of Qatar’s cutting-edge F-15, the F-15QA.
“The unveiling of the F-15QA is significant, not solely in terms of capability but also in the strengthened collaboration it signifies. The alliance between the United States and Qatar is essential for the stability and security of the central command area of responsibility, and we appreciate our coalition partner’s ongoing dedication to enhancing interoperability and joint readiness,” stated Lt. Gen. Greg Guillot, commander of the 9th Air Force. “It is a privilege and honor to stand alongside our Qatari partners today and every day.”
The initial batch of F-15QA aircraft will be delivered to Qatar later this year following the completion of pre-delivery pilot training.
“The Qatar F-15QA initiative significantly upgrades next-generation capabilities in the advanced F-15, incorporating features like fly-by-wire flight controls, an all-digital cockpit, and innovative sensors, radar, and electronic warfare functionalities,” commented Prat Kumar, vice president of the F-15 program. “Fueled by digital engineering and advanced manufacturing techniques, these aircraft mark a transformative advancement for the F-15. The F-15QA will elevate the superiority of the QEAF, offering enhanced speed, range, and payload compared to any fighter aircraft globally.”
Boeing has been delivering maintenance and logistics assistance to the QEAF throughout pre-delivery pilot training, which initiated earlier this year. Additionally, Boeing will develop and manage an aircrew and maintenance training facility for the QEAF at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar through 2024 while also providing in-country spare parts and logistics support once the aircraft are delivered.
“Boeing takes pride in offering a comprehensive solution to our esteemed Qatari client through customized training and support services,” remarked Torbjorn “Turbo” Sjogren, vice president of International Government & Defence for Boeing. “We anticipate our ongoing collaboration with Qatar and aim to further fulfill their mission readiness requirements.”
