Boeing Secures $9.8 Billion Deal to Modernize Saudi Arabia’s F-15 Fleet

Boeing Secures $9.8 Billion Contract for F-15 Modernization in Saudi Arabia

This landmark contract focuses on the comprehensive modernization of the Saudi Arabian F-15 fighter jet fleet, encompassing critical areas such as hardware enhancements, software updates, and innovative interface design. The agreement paves the way for the development, integration, testing, and production of essential subsystems and structural components. Additionally, it includes provisions for future modifications and enhancements to the F-15 weapon system, along with comprehensive product support, as confirmed by a Pentagon announcement.

Work related to this contract will be primarily conducted in St. Louis, along with specified tasks outlined in individual orders. Completion of this vital project is anticipated by November 2025. The contract allows for a five-year ordering window from the award date, with the potential for an additional five-year option.

This contract falls under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, executed through a sole-source acquisition approach. The initial delivery order is set to be awarded concurrently, amounting to $1,032,649, utilizing FMS modification and development type 4F funds.

Saudi Arabia ranks among the largest operators of F-15 jets outside the United States. In 2010, the nation placed an order for 84 F-15SA fighters and received upgrade kits to enhance its existing fleet of 70 F-15S multi-role fighters to the advanced SA configuration.

This modernization effort aims to elevate the Saudi F-15 aircraft to match the capabilities of the F-15QT jets, which have been ordered by Qatar, ensuring that Saudi Arabia remains at the forefront of military aviation technology.
