Collins Aerospace Boosts Propeller Maintenance Offerings in Malaysia to Support Rising ATR Fleets Across Asia Pacific
To effectively cater to the expanding ATR fleets in the Asia Pacific area, Collins Aerospace is introducing enhanced MRO capabilities for its 568F propeller at its Malaysian facility. IATA III operators of ATR 42 and ATR 72 turboprop planes will have access to a local inventory of rotatable spare parts. Collins plans to initiate the new services in 2022.
Initially, the exchange initiative will be bolstered by local operations to evaluate hardware preservation and condition, while repairs and thorough inspections will be conducted at Collins’ established MRO centers in Europe, ensuring operators benefit from extensive and premium OEM services.
“In the coming decade, the ATR fleet is set to experience notable growth in the Asia Pacific region, and we will be available to assist with the rising demand,” stated Nicolas Lérisson, aftermarket director, Propeller Systems for Collins Aerospace. “These new, localized MRO services will facilitate quicker exchanges and lower transportation costs for our airline clients—ultimately enhancing operational efficiency.”
Collins’ 568F six-blade propeller is currently operational in over 100 nations on more than 900 aircraft, comprising the worldwide fleet of ATR 42/72 planes.
