Croatia Seals the Deal: Rafale Fighter Jets Coming from France!
During a ceremony featuring the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister of the Croatian Republic, Andrej Plenković, the French Minister of the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, alongside the Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, Eric Trappier, finalized two agreements yesterday in Zagreb with Croatian Minister of Defense Mario Banozic. These contracts pertain to the procurement of 12 Rafale combat aircraft and necessary logistics support.
The intergovernmental contract primarily encompasses the provision of 12 Rafale aircraft from the French Air Force alongside their respective equipment, in addition to a training program for the Croatian Air Force.
The logistics support agreement includes all necessary resources, encompassing extra spare parts for these jets, for a duration of three years.
The choice of Rafale, revealed on May 28, following an international competition that featured European and American jets, underscores its technological and operational excellence, as well as the outstanding efforts made by the “France” team to reinforce its standing within European air forces.
“I am thrilled, on behalf of Dassault Aviation and our partners, to establish a bond of trust with Croatia, a key European nation, and to pen a new chapter for the Rafale, which I am confident will provide the Croatian Air Force with utmost satisfaction while significantly supporting the exercise of Croatia’s national sovereignty,” remarked Eric Trappier following the contract signing event.
