Indonesia Adds Another 18 Rafale Jets to Its Arsenal: Dassault Aviation Secures Key Order
As part of the agreement finalized by Indonesia in February 2022 for the procurement of 42 Rafale jets, the second batch of 18 Rafale has now commenced. This follows the implementation in September 2022 of the first batch of 6 Rafale, elevating the total count of aircraft ordered to 24.
The acquisition of the advanced Rafale aircraft for the Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Udara (Indonesian National Armed Forces – Air Force) encompasses a comprehensive “turnkey” solution along with a significant industrial return for Indonesia’s aerospace industry. Educational initiatives will also be introduced to support the technical training of aeronautical expertise.
The “omnirole” Rafale serves as a distinctive asset that will bolster Indonesia’s sovereignty and operational autonomy, while enhancing its stature as a prominent regional power.
“This new advancement solidifies the initiation of a long-term collaboration with the Indonesian authorities, to whom I wish to express my gratitude once again for their trust. It symbolizes the strategic bond between Indonesia and France and will be further reflected in the increased presence of Dassault Aviation within the nation,” stated Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation.
