Airbus Achieves Milestone with A400M Aircraft Deliveries
Airbus has made history by successfully delivering two A400M new generation airlifters to different nations in a single day. On 20 March, the company presented the aircraft to the European Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) in Seville, Spain, representing both Germany and France.
OCCAR Director Arturo Alfonso-Meiriño expressed great satisfaction, stating: “It is a pleasure to witness the leading OCCAR nations receiving these superb aircraft on the same day, especially as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of OCCAR’s Convention. This event highlights the diligent efforts of OCCAR’s A400M team in managing this complex programme over many years.”
These most recent deliveries mark the 60th and 61st A400 aircraft handed over, increasing the German and French fleets to 18 and 14 aircraft, respectively. The official handover ceremony included the Airbus and OCCAR delivery teams, as well as crews from both France and Germany, gathered in front of the newly delivered aircraft.
