Bahrain Secures $551 Million Deal as Raytheon Kicks Off Patriot™ Production

Bahrain Secures Advanced Air and Missile Defense System

The U.S. Army has awarded Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) a substantial contract worth $551 million to initiate production of the highly effective Patriot™ air and missile defense system for the Kingdom of Bahrain. This significant contract was finalized on January 31, 2020.

According to Tom Laliberty, vice president of Integrated Air and Missile Defense at Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems division, “Raytheon’s Patriot provides the Kingdom of Bahrain and 16 other nations worldwide with a combat-ready system that safeguards civilians, critical infrastructure, and military forces from an extensive array of threats. Patriot has proven its effectiveness, saving countless lives, and continues to evolve through rigorous testing, modernization, and enhancements, ensuring it remains ahead of emerging challenges.”

Raytheon’s Patriot is regarded as the most sophisticated tactical air and missile defense system globally, offering protection against a wide range of advanced threats, such as aircraft, tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
