La Poste and Thales Join Forces to Pioneer Innovative Cybersecurity Compliance Trials
Le Groupe La Poste and Thales have officially declared the initiation of a year-long pilot aimed at improving the enforcement of provisions outlined in France’s Military Programming Law (LPM) for the strengthening of information systems employed by critical infrastructure providers. This partnership presents a crucial opportunity for La Poste to assess Cybels Sensor, a dependable tool developed by Thales for identifying cyber threats.
This distinctive collaboration represents the first of its nature, wherein Le Groupe La Poste and Thales aim to conduct practical evaluations focused on advancing cybersecurity solutions and services to guarantee maximum levels of cyber threat detection and responsive capabilities as required by the LPM.
The agreement specifies three primary objectives: to assess the implementation and interaction of various cybersecurity services and solutions; to validate operational practices that ensure effective communication and sharing of threat intelligence among stakeholders, and to improve the operational efficiency of both products and services.
With over 40 years of extensive expertise in cybersecurity, Thales will supply Le Groupe La Poste with its Cybels Sensor, a reliable tool tailored to identify cyberattacks specifically targeting Critical National Infrastructure Providers, which are subject to stringent security protocols. To enhance detection capabilities, the tool utilizes sophisticated artificial intelligence algorithms designed to identify zero-day attacks, supplemented by a Cyber Threat Intelligence service. The solution will be tested at notably high data rates (10 Gbps) via La Poste’s state-of-the-art PASIv2 Internet access platform.
As part of the measures being undertaken to guarantee compliance with the LPM, Le Groupe La Poste will engage its internal cybersecurity teams to provide the services of Security Incident Detection Providers (PDIS) and Security Incident Response Providers (PRIS), allowing them to collaborate and share information on threats using Thales’s Cyber Threat Intelligence platform.
By combining their resources, knowledge, and services, Thales and La Poste are the first organizations in France to assess the theoretical framework of the LPM requirements in practical settings, conducting operational evaluations of related services and solutions aimed at enhancing the quality and effectiveness of cyberattack detection.
