Spanish Air Force Celebrates Maiden Flight of Airbus A400M

The first Airbus A400M, a cutting-edge airlifter commissioned by the Spanish Air Force, successfully completed its maiden flight. This significant event represents a major step towards the aircraft’s delivery. The A400M, designated MSN44, took off from the Final Assembly Line in Seville, Spain, at 15:25 local time (GMT+1) on September 5, and returned after an impressive flight lasting 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Test Pilot Nacho Lombo expressed his enthusiasm post-flight, stating: “The aircraft was a pleasure to fly, as always. I am confident that its unique blend of strategic and tactical capabilities will revolutionize the Spanish Air Force’s air mobility operations, similar to its impact in other countries.” The A400M is slated for delivery in the upcoming weeks, marking a new chapter in air transport capabilities for Spain.
