“France Steps Up: Sending Mirage Jets and Training Ukrainian Pilots Amid Ongoing Conflict”

French President Emmanuel Macron revealed a substantial enhancement to Ukraine’s military resources on Thursday. France will provide Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets and will also train Ukrainian aviators in France.

Instruction is anticipated to commence this summer and wrap up before the year ends. The exact quantity of jets to be supplied has not been disclosed.

Macron recognized the significant obstacles Ukraine faces in training its new soldiers. France will arm and instruct a complete brigade of 4,500 Ukrainian troops to strengthen their defenses.

Ukraine Pursues Enhanced Training Initiatives

President Zelensky’s trip to France aligns with attempts to secure amplified Western military assistance. As Russia has recently achieved territorial advancements, Ukraine has officially appealed to its allies for instructors to facilitate on-ground training, accelerating troop mobilization.

Though Macron did not confirm the swift deployment of French instructors, he highlighted a united strategy with partners. He asserted that such initiatives are not regarded as escalatory.
