GA-ASI Secures Green Light for Extended Support of French MQ-9 Drones

The U.S. Department of State has authorized a $300 million Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Government of France for the ongoing MQ-9A Reaper® Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) and associated equipment. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), the innovator of the MQ-9A Reaper Remotely Piloted Aircraft, is the main contractor.

The subsequent assistance will improve the French Air & Space Force (FrASF) fleet of MQ-9s and encompasses aircraft parts, spare components, accessories, training tools, and simulation software, along with capability enhancements to the Predator® Mission Aircrew Training System (PMATS).

“The French Air & Space Force has been an exceptional client for GA-ASI over the years,” stated GA-ASI Senior Director of International FMS Programs Alan Peterson. “We are delighted to provide an elevated level of contractor support for the French MQ-9s.”

The CLS agreement features software and software assistance services, repair and return solutions, U.S. government and contractor-supplied engineering, technical, and logistical support services, along with other vital components.

“The French Reaper fleet has proven to be an invaluable resource for the FrASF, particularly in facilitating training and missions in France and Africa,” remarked Troy Lefever, MQ-9 FMS Branch Chief. “We value the ongoing collaboration and support from GA-ASI.”
