GA-ASI Forms Exciting New Alliance with Conflux

In an endeavor to further enhance its Additive Manufacturing capabilities, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has forged a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its long-term ally Conflux Technology. The recent MOU, formalized this week at the AVALON 2023 Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition, represents the culmination of several years of cooperative work between GA-ASI and Conflux to create a flight-approved Fuel Oil Heat Exchanger (FOHE) for GA-ASI systems.

“We persist in collaborating with Conflux on the design and fabrication of FOHE for our aircraft,” stated Ken Loving, GA-ASI Regional Vice President for Indo-Pacific. “With this new MOU, we will lay out a definitive route to production for the heat exchanger components utilized across several GA-ASI production lines.”

GA-ASI stands as a premier developer of unmanned aerial vehicles, while Conflux is a leader in thermal management solutions headquartered in Australia. Conflux excels as an industry pioneer, specializing in Additive Manufacturing (AM) for heat exchanger applications.

“Our ongoing collaboration with General Atomics marks a significant turning point for the commercialization of additively produced heat exchangers in the aerospace and defense sectors, leveraging the substantial weight and performance advantages provided by these technologies toward mass production,” remarked Abe Masoud, Conflux Business Development Manager – North America.
