
Collins Aerospace Systems, a key division of Raytheon Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), has proudly announced a significant contract win with BAE Systems. This partnership aims to deliver advanced actuation capabilities for the U.K.’s innovative Tempest combat air system project. The collaboration will be supported from Collins Aerospace’s state-of-the-art Actuation Systems facility located in Wolverhampton, UK.
Team Tempest represents a groundbreaking technology initiative, jointly funded by the Royal Air Force (RAF) Rapid Capabilities Office alongside leading U.K. industry partners such as BAE Systems, Rolls Royce, Leonardo, and MBDA. This program is strategically focused on ensuring the U.K. maintains and evolves its technological edge, pivotal for preserving military freedom of action and reinforcing its leadership in global combat air technology development.
The Tempest initiative encompasses a diverse range of over 60 technology demonstrations. Each demonstration is designed to enhance the capabilities, technologies, and skills within UK industry, paving the way for future innovations in combat air systems.
