Saudi Arabia Elevates Air Power with the Launch of F.15-SA Fighter Jets

Royal Saudi Air Force Introduces Advanced F-15SA Fighter Jet

The Royal Saudi Air Force has officially commissioned the F-15-SA fighter jet, enhancing its fleet of air combat aircraft. This significant upgrade marks a new era in the Kingdom’s air power capabilities and readiness, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on January 23rd.

The introduction of the F-15SA is set to bolster the qualitative superiority of the Saudi Air Force in the Middle East, ensuring access to cutting-edge technologies to protect the nation’s territory, uphold security, and maintain regional stability against potential external threats.

Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Otaibi, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force, emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to safety and stability through the acquisition of advanced military capabilities, including the modern F-15-SA jets.

The F-15SA represents the latest variant of the renowned F-15 fighter, incorporating state-of-the-art warfare technology. With its digital systems, this versatile aircraft can be equipped with both conventional and modern weaponry, enhancing operational readiness.

Boeing has highlighted that the F-15SA offers superior performance and enhanced survivability while maintaining a lower life-cycle cost. The aircraft features two additional wing stations, increasing its payload capacity and tactical flexibility.

Lt. Gen. Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Ayeesh, commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force, stated, “We eagerly anticipate the advanced capabilities of the F-15SA aircraft to ensure the ongoing protection of the Kingdom’s security and stability.” He also acknowledged the pivotal role of the partnerships with the U.S. Air Force and The Boeing Company in keeping the Royal Saudi Air Force among the world’s most well-equipped forces.

Flight testing for the F-15SA began earlier this year, adding to the Royal Saudi Air Force’s extensive experience with F-15S fighters, which have been in operation since the 1990s.

“The Kingdom and Boeing have enjoyed a 65-year partnership that extends beyond innovative products and services,” said Dennis Muilenburg, Boeing Defense, Space & Security president and CEO. “The collaboration between Boeing and Saudi educational and industrial entities is equally crucial.”
