“Seventh NATO Ally Adopts Safran’s Cutting-Edge JIM Compact Infrared Binoculars”

The JIM Compact multifunction infrared binoculars, developed by Safran Electronics & Defense, were unveiled at the Eurosatory 2016 exhibition and have been adopted by seven NATO countries. These state-of-the-art binoculars are recognized as the premier choice for special operations forces, effectively covering the entire spectrum of ISTAR missions: Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition & Reconnaissance.

The JIM Compact boasts an incredibly lightweight design (weighing under 2 kilograms, battery included), exceptional range, and outstanding battlefield connectivity. It meets the rigorous demands of users, particularly regarding size, weight, and power (SWaP), while ensuring prolonged operational capability. Featuring an intuitive ergonomic design, low-light sensor, cooled infrared, and daytime sensors borrowed from the original JIM LR long-range binoculars, alongside pointer and laser designator displays (See-Spot), the JIM Compact delivers an unparalleled performance-to-weight ratio in the market.

Building on the remarkable success of the JIM series of multifunction infrared binoculars, Safran Electronics & Defense has nearly 10,000 units of the JIM Compact either in active service or on order across approximately 40 countries.
