Kazakhstan Expands Its Fleet with Two Airbus A400M Aircraft Acquisition

The Republic of Kazakhstan has finalized a procurement for two Airbus A400M aircraft, positioning itself as the ninth operator alongside Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Turkey, Belgium, Malaysia, and Luxembourg.

With the initial aircraft slated for delivery in 2024, the agreement encompasses a comprehensive array of maintenance and training support. Alongside this contract, a Memorandum of Understanding has been established to collaborate on Maintenance and Overhaul services, marking the first phase in creating a local C295 maintenance facility.

”The A400M will serve as the foundation for Kazakhstan’s tactical and strategic airlift capabilities,” stated Michael Schoellhorn, the CEO of Airbus Defence and Space. “This latest export arrangement raises the cumulative A400M orders to 176 aircraft, a count that we anticipate will grow in the coming years. With over 100 aircraft successfully delivered and having accumulated 100,000 flight hours, the A400M has validated its competencies, reaching a level of maturity that many prospective clients have been awaiting.”

Boasting the ability to support the nation’s logistics and execute military, civil, and humanitarian operations, the A400M will empower Kazakhstan to swiftly respond to various missions by rapidly deploying transformative capabilities across vast distances, thereby facilitating effective access to secluded regions.
