HeliKorea Elevates Emergency Services with Three New GrandNew Helicopters

The GrandNew Light Twin Helicopter Expands in South Korea

The recent acquisition of three GrandNew helicopters by HeliKorea marks a significant milestone for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the Republic of Korea. This order underscores the GrandNew’s reputation as the industry benchmark for light twin EMS helicopters.

Set for delivery, the first two helicopters are expected to arrive by the end of 2017, with the third joining the fleet in 2018. These new additions will complement the two AW169 helicopters previously ordered by HeliKorea in 2016, solidifying a fully Leonardo-operated EMS fleet in South Korea by January 2018.

HeliKorea Co., Ltd. stands as the foremost helicopter transportation provider in South Korea, operating a diverse fleet of 26 helicopters. Their services span offshore transportation in collaboration with the Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC), emergency medical services through partnerships with the National Medical Center, as well as cargo support and firefighting initiatives aimed at combating forest fires.

Established in 1996, Helikorea is headquartered in Daejeon, South Korea, with additional offices in Seoul and Kimpo. Leonardo has significantly expanded its market presence in South Korea, with over 50 helicopters currently in service or on order for various roles. These roles range from military and parapublic sectors to commercial applications such as naval operations, search and rescue missions, law enforcement, firefighting, and VIP transportation.
