Leonardo has expressed strong support for the recent announcement from the U.S. Department of Defense regarding a significant contract modification. AgustaWestland Philadelphia Corp. is set to receive a $171 million modification to the original firm-fixed-price contract for the U.S. Navy’s Advanced Helicopter Training System. This modification includes options for the production and delivery of 36 additional TH-73A aircraft, with all work anticipated to be completed by December 2022 in Philadelphia, PA.
Back in January 2020, Leonardo, via AgustaWestland Philadelphia Corp., secured a firm-fixed-price contract valued at $176 million. This contract covers the production and delivery of 32 TH-73A helicopters, as well as initial spares, support equipment, and comprehensive pilot and maintenance training services. The TH-73A helicopters are crucial for training the next generation of aviators for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
