LISA ATHERTON STEPS UP AS BELL’S NEW PRESIDENT AND CEO
Textron Inc. has officially declared that Lisa Atherton has been appointed as president & CEO of the Bell division, effective April 28, 2023. Atherton, who was most recently the chief operating officer of Bell, takes over from Mitch Snyder, who will be retiring after more than seven years as president & CEO of Bell and nearly two decades with the organization.
Atherton held the position of president & CEO of Textron Systems from 2017 until January 2023, when she was appointed COO at Bell. She became part of Textron Defense Systems in 2007 and, in 2013, she moved to Bell, taking on various leadership roles within Military Programs, including executive vice president for Military Business. A distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, she contributed eight years at the U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command’s Directorate of Requirements.
Commenting on the shift, Scott C. Donnelly, Textron chairman & CEO, remarked, “Lisa has excelled at fostering robust teams at Bell and Textron Systems during her 16 years with the organization and has garnered the trust of our clients. Under her direction, Bell will persist in its effective execution of military and commercial initiatives, and I am optimistic that she will deliver the strategic insight needed to drive future growth for Bell.
“I also wish to express my gratitude to Mitch for his leadership. Throughout his term, Mitch oversaw the innovation of new technologies and product advancements, achieved significant successes within Bell’s military sector, and supported the expansion of our commercial ventures,” Donnelly added.
