SHARD was crafted by KNDS to elevate 120mm APFSDS tungsten alloy ammunition to a superior level of efficiency against all advanced MBT and armored threats in both current and future combat scenarios. Its capabilities are unparalleled for this category of munitions:

An ammunition readily available for all NATO tanks
SHARD is a completely ITAR-free option suitable for all NATO smoothbore 120mm tanks, encompassing Leclerc, Leopard 2, M1 Abrams, Ariete, and Centauro 2. It has been devised in accordance with the Stanag 4583 and Interface Control Document 120 (ICD120) standards. Consequently, it provides significant operational, logistical, and financial benefits to users: a single APFSDS ammunition solution for all gun platforms.
A showcase for Leclerc and Leopard 2 operators was held in late 2023 in Alcochete, Portugal. The 15% performance enhancement was validated through successful firing trials executed on semi-infinite RHA targets.
