“MBDA Triumphs with Successful Test of Revolutionary CAMM-ER Air Defense Missile!”

CAMM-ER anti-air missile

MBDA has successfully executed a trial launch of the extended range variant of its versatile anti-air modular missile air defense system against a maneuvering target, affirming the efficiency of the system.

The universal anti-air modular missile – extended range CAMM-ER is the latest addition to the CAMM air defense family of systems. The evaluation occurred at an Italian firing range.

All variants of the CAMM family incorporate the same active radar seeker and soft-launch mechanism, with CAMM-ER boasting a more robust rocket motor engineered by AVIO to achieve an extended reach beyond 40km (25 miles).

CAMM-ER was developed to supplant the Aspide missile in the Medium Advanced Air Defense System (MAADS) of the Italian Air Force and the GRIFO air defense system of the Italian Army. The CAMM-ER missile will be deployed within the Albatros NG system, which offers an enhanced naval-based air defense (NBAD) solution to bolster the protective capabilities of naval fleets.
