“MBDA Celebrates Strengthened Missile Collaboration Between Poland and the UK”
MBDA applauds the formalization, on 4th October, of a Polish-UK governmental accord to collaborate on aerial defense missiles, detailing the extent of industrial collaboration for the NAREW ground-based air defense (GBAD) initiative.
The signing ceremony at the Zamość Military Base in Poland coincided with Poland announcing the arrival of equipment for the initial Firing Unit of the Mała NAREW GBAD framework, employing MBDA’s CAMM missile and iLaunchers.
Chris Allam, Managing Director of MBDA UK, stated: “Delivering Mała NAREW to Poland within such an exceptionally brief timeframe is an impressive accomplishment, and we take great pride in having achieved it through our close-knit partnership with PGZ and the robust backing from the UK Government. Today’s governmental accords catalyze the next phase in Polish-UK missile collaboration, reinforcing the PGZ-MBDA technology transfer initiative related to NAREW, while also bolstering Pilica+, Miecznik, Ottokar-Brzoza, and other crucial endeavors.”
MBDA is presently collaborating with PGZ to establish an advanced sovereign missile capability within Poland, supported by the transfer of expertise and technology from MBDA to the Polish defense sector. This collaborative effort is anticipated to deliver essential military capabilities to Poland, ensure remarkable value for investment, and stimulate the Polish economy by generating high-skilled employment opportunities. The Mała NAREW framework, integrating Polish SOŁA radar stations and C2 systems with CAMM missiles, represents a significant milestone towards the overarching NAREW initiative while also mitigating risks associated with CAMM’s application in the Pilica+ modernization project.
