Nigerian Federal Government Secures Deal for 12 Cutting-Edge MD 530F Cayuse Warrior Plus Helicopters
MD Helicopters (MDH) finalized an agreement with the Nigerian federal administration for 12 MD 530F Cayuse Warrior Plus Scout/Assault helicopters during a signing event in Nigeria.
The aircraft will be utilized by the Nigerian Army Aviation to proficiently address the security issues within the nation. This acquisition of the new assault helicopters forms part of the ongoing initiatives by the Federal Government of Nigeria to bolster the capabilities of the Nigerian Army Aviation in fulfilling its constitutional duties within a collaborative framework.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, expressed at the inauguration of the inaugural Nigerian Army Aviation Seminar in Abuja that the MD 530F Cayuse Warrior Plus assault helicopters would empower the Nigerian army aviation unit, which was established to enhance the agility, responsiveness, and effectiveness of ground troops during missions. The COAS further indicated that it would also augment the overall operational success of joint and cooperative military forces.

MD Helicopters plans to commence the delivery of the aircraft to Nigeria in the last quarter of 2023.
