
Moroccan Royal Air Forces Set to Enhance Fleet with H135 Helicopters
The Royal Moroccan Air Forces have procured a fleet of H135 helicopters for essential training operations. This lightweight twin-engine H135, a distinguished model in its category, will facilitate the preparation of pilots to execute a broad range of challenging missions, including utility operations and search and rescue.
“We take pride in the fact that the Royal Moroccan Air Forces have chosen the H135 for their training activities. It is a dependable, budget-friendly multirole helicopter that is perfectly equipped to transition into more sophisticated aircraft,” expressed Arnaud Montalvo, Head of Africa and the Middle East at Airbus Helicopters. “We are confident that the H135s will significantly enhance their fleet, and we anticipate providing them with outstanding assistance in collaboration with our strategic ally Heliconia as they commence operations in the nation,” he further remarked.
The agreement also includes a comprehensive support package, which consists of the provision of Flight Training Devices, as well as training for instructor pilots and maintenance personnel. This training programme will empower the Royal Moroccan Air Forces to fully exploit the H135’s versatile mission capabilities, including NVG operations and winching technologies.
With more than 130 units utilized by military branches globally for training purposes, the IFR-certified H135 stands as a reliable standard for military training helicopters worldwide, boasting over 400,000 military training flight hours. This latest order enhances the global fleet to 12 military clients, including the defense forces of the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, and Japan.
Fitted with Airbus Helicopters’ cutting-edge Helionix avionics system, the H135 ensures optimal safety conditions for both basic and advanced mission training, serving as a seamless transition platform for pilots moving to more advanced helicopters.
