This agreement specifically addresses the acquisition of the latest ASTER 30 B1 NT version, designed to counter future aerial threats with enhanced speed and maneuverability.
This advanced missile will be integrated into the SAMP/T NG systems of the French Air Force, Italian Army, and Italian Air Force, as well as the HORIZON frigates of the Italian Navy. Furthermore, this agreement includes the production of new ASTER 30 B1 for the SAMP/T NG to equip the Italian Air Force, along with new ASTER 30 and ASTER 15 missiles for the French and Italian Navies.
This comprehensive contract, negotiated by OCCAR, reached a successful conclusion due to the significant commitment from EUROSAM and MBDA, recognized as the European missile industry benchmark, alongside the robust collaboration of participating nations. With this latest agreement, OCCAR bolsters the European missile manufacturing sector, backed by MBDA and key European players such as Thales, Avio, Roxel, Simmel…
This new agreement supplements the existing contract for the Mid-Life Update of the current ASTER inventory belonging to France, Italy, and the United Kingdom established in 2020 and 2021. Through these agreements, OCCAR will enhance the Medium Range Air Defense capabilities of the three nations, simultaneously contributing to the European Air Defense framework.
