革新の翼:PARAMOUNTとAALグループ、MI型ヘリコプター用複合材ブレードの初試験をクリア!
Paramount, the international aerospace and technology enterprise, alongside its strategic collaborator AAL Group Ltd, have triumphantly concluded the initial assessment phase of their groundbreaking composite helicopter blades specifically designed for Mi-type helicopters.
Showcased at the Dubai Airshow, the composite blades underwent successful evaluations in the UAE, conducted by AAL Group Composite. AAL’s dedicated team, in alliance with Paramount, will persist in the testing journey to attain complete certification.
This remarkable accomplishment marks a crucial milestone toward the anticipated initiation of composite blade manufacturing at AAL’s MRO facilities in Sharjah, UAE.
The composite blades, featuring technical specifications that outshine those of traditional metal blades, present fresh advantages for operators. Crucially, they facilitate the substitution of individual damaged blades instead of an entire set, promoting cost-effectiveness and reduced downtime. In case of damage, a faulty blade or set can be rapidly repaired on-site, ensuring minimized turnaround time.
Building upon the strategic alliance first announced on 21st February 2023, Paramount and AAL Group continue to work hand in hand to improve the functionalities of Mi-type helicopters across Africa and beyond. The collaboration harnesses Paramount’s extensive expertise in composite blade design and development, resulting in rotor blades with extended operational life and economic efficiency compared to conventional metal blades.
“The incorporation of our cutting-edge composite blades on AAL’s Mi helicopter serves as a concrete testament to our dedication to delivering innovative solutions within the aerospace sector,” stated Steve Griessel, CEO of Paramount Global. “These blades signify a considerable advancement in terms of performance, longevity, and cost-efficiency, and we are thrilled to present them at the Dubai Airshow.”
AAL Group Ltd., armed with over twenty years of expertise servicing Mi-type helicopters, contributes invaluable knowledge and insight to the collaboration.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Olga Martyshchenko, shared her excitement about the advancements achieved since the partnership’s initial announcement: “Our cooperation with Paramount is yielding remarkable results. The new composite blades are revolutionary, and we take pride in having them installed on our Mi helicopter for global audiences at the Dubai Airshow.”
The Dubai Airshow offers a global platform for Paramount and AAL Group to showcase their Mi-type helicopter innovations to an international crowd. The event also acts as a venue to further explore the future of aerospace advancements and the significance of strategic partnerships in propelling progress.
“Paramount’s footprint in the UAE, in collaboration with AAL, illustrates our commitment to fostering global networks and bolstering the defense and aerospace capabilities of nations worldwide,” added Griessel. “We are optimistic about the future and anticipate continuing our productive collaboration with AAL Group.”
Paramount’s development of composite main rotor blades began in 2006, responding to customer demands. The composite blades are engineered to match the functional and performance attributes of metal blades, thereby allowing for the replacement of metal blades as a complete set with no alterations to the aircraft platform.
These composite blades ensure an operational lifespan of up to 20,000 hours, with an indefinite shelf life, and in cases of damage, can be exchanged individually rather than as a complete set, resulting in significant cost reductions over time.
In light of current supply and delivery obstacles regarding main rotor blades, the production of composite blades offers a dependable resource for continuous operations, guaranteeing support for security and defense initiatives.
