Egypt’s Rafale Deal Takes Flight!

The agreement for the procurement by Egypt of 30 additional Rafales to enhance its air force has officially commenced.

Announced on May 4, this agreement completes the initial procurement of 24 Rafales, finalized in 2015, and will elevate the total number of Rafales operated by the Egyptian Air Force to 54, making it the second largest Rafale fleet globally, following the French Air Force.

This development marks a significant advancement in the strategic collaboration between Egypt and France, further solidifying the longstanding relationship formed with Dassault Aviation over nearly five decades. It also highlights the satisfaction of the Egyptian government regarding the successful execution of the initial agreement. Ultimately, it reaffirms the technological and operational superiority of the Rafale and its success in international markets.

“In a challenging geopolitical landscape, Egypt has opted for the Rafale to fulfill its role as a pivotal player in both the regional and international arenas, exercising full sovereignty. This is a privilege for Dassault Aviation and its collaborators, who are completely dedicated to fulfilling the expectations of the Egyptian government,” stated Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation.
