Raytheon Unveils Fresh Leadership in Saudi Arabia

Abu Dhabi, UAE (Sep. 21, 2016) — Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has recently announced the appointment of Kurt E. Amend as the new President of Raytheon International, Inc. (RII) in Saudi Arabia. He succeeds Lou Laroche, who is set to retire at the end of the year after nearly four decades of service.

“Celebrating our 50th anniversary in Saudi Arabia earlier this year, Raytheon has established a robust partnership with our Saudi clients to enhance the Kingdom’s safety and security,” stated Thomas A. Vecchiolla, President of RII. “Kurt brings extensive experience in the Gulf region, which will be invaluable as we continue to honor our commitments and support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.”

Vecchiolla added, “I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Lou Laroche for his dedicated service to our Saudi customers and wish him and his family the very best for the future.”

Amend has been with Raytheon since 2011, most recently taking on the role of Vice President for Foreign Policy and National Security Affairs at RII. He began his illustrious career at Raytheon as an International Business Development Director, later managing the development of the international strategy in collaboration with various government agencies and partners.

Before joining Raytheon, Kurt Amend served as a Foreign Service Officer for 23 years with the U.S. Department of State, gaining valuable experience in the Middle East, South Asia, and the former Soviet Union.
