
Raytheon Secures $133 Million Boost for Air Force Engine Module Revamp
Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has been awarded a potential one-year, $132.6 million contract modification by the U.S. Air Force to refurbish F100 engine modules for foreign military sales clients.
This exclusive modification pertains to F100-PW-100, F100-PW-200, F100-PW-220, F100-PW-220E, F100-PW-229, and F-100-PW-229 EEP engine modules, aiding nations including Poland, Greece, Romania, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Chile, Morocco, Indonesia, Thailand, and Taiwan, as stated by the Department of Defense on Friday.
The Air Force Sustainment Center serves as the contracting authority and anticipates operations to take place in East Hartford, Connecticut; Midwest City, Oklahoma; and Midland, Georgia until Aug. 14, 2023.
The F100 engine series has powered the Air Force’s inventory of active F-15 fighter jets. The Pratt & Whitney-manufactured F100 propulsion systems have been utilized by 23 air forces globally, amassing over 30 million flight hours.
