Raytheon Intelligence & Space has been chosen by Boeing to supply the state-of-the-art APG-82(V)1 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar for the F-15EX fighter jet.
“The cutting-edge F-15EX requires the most sophisticated AESA radar available,” stated Michelle Styczynski, Senior Product Line Director for Raytheon Intelligence & Space. “The APG-82(V)1 radar is not only highly capable but also combat-proven, having been deployed in various theatres globally. Our production line is fully operational, ready to deliver this transformative technology immediately.”
The APG-82(V)1 radar possesses the ability to detect, identify, and track multiple air and surface targets simultaneously at unprecedented ranges. This continuous target monitoring empowers pilots to make quicker, more informed decisions from a safe distance, thereby maintaining an edge in aerial combat and ensuring air dominance.
So far, Raytheon Intelligence & Space has successfully delivered over 150 APG-82 units to both U.S. and international clients. Under the current agreement with Boeing, Raytheon will provide eight systems starting this year and completing in 2022.
Based in Arlington, Virginia, Raytheon Intelligence & Space reported pro forma annual revenue of $14 billion in 2019 and employs around 35,700 professionals worldwide. It stands as one of the four business divisions within Raytheon Technologies Corporation.
