Raytheon Set to Equip Allied Air Forces with Advanced AMRAAM Missile Systems

Raytheon Secures Multi-Million Dollar Contracts for Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile

Recently, Raytheon Missiles & Defense celebrated the successful acquisition of two significant contracts related to the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) through Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to various NATO and Middle Eastern countries, as well as Australia.

The company received a firm-fixed-price modification worth $51,149,172 for contract FA8675-20-C-0033, aimed at enhancing the AMRAAM production program. This modification focuses on procuring and upgrading necessary test equipment to boost AMRAAM production capabilities.

Planned operations are set to take place in Tucson, Arizona, with an anticipated completion date in January 2025. This contract specifically addresses FMS needs for a range of nations including Norway, Denmark, Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Slovakia, Poland, the Netherlands, Kuwait, Qatar, and Spain. The funding channels include Air Force fiscal 2020 missile procurement totaling $16,717,336, along with Navy fiscal 2020 weapons procurement funds of $11,552,000, and FMS funds amounting to $22,879,836 secured at the time of the award. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is overseeing this contracting activity.

Additionally, Raytheon Missile Systems secured a $9,703,375 firm-fixed-price modification related to contract FA8675-20-C-0033, focused on producing baseline rocket motors for the AMRAAM. This contract modification specifically caters to Air Force baseline rocket motors intended for Foreign Military Sales to Norway and Chile. The work will also be conducted in Tucson, Arizona, with an expected conclusion by May 14, 2023. Full FMS funds will be obligated at the time of this award, managed again by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
