Raytheon Secures Major Early Warning Radar Contract in Qatar

Raytheon has secured a contract worth $78 million to enhance Qatar’s Early Warning Radars.

This contract amendment is for contractor logistical assistance for the Qatar Early Warning Radar over a duration of five years.

In February 2017, Raytheon was awarded a substantial $1.06 billion contract to supply an early warning radar (EWR) to Doha. The Qatari radar is anticipated to incorporate long-range detection into the nation’s structured Integrated Air and Missile Defense framework, which comprises Patriot systems and an Air Defense Operation Center. An integrated defense optimally utilizes the distinctive capabilities of various radars and interceptors. The EWR will offer additional warning time to inform command centers and activate fire control systems.
