Mali Secures Airbus C295: A New Era in Aerial Transport!
Ministry of Defence of Mali Expands Airlift Capability with Airbus C295 Order
The Republic of Mali’s Ministry of Defence has officially ordered an additional Airbus C295 airlifter, specifically designed for transport missions. This strategic move highlights the nation’s commitment to enhancing its air mobility capabilities.
Set for delivery in 2021, this new aircraft will complement the first C295, which has been operational since December 2016. Within less than four years, the first aircraft has successfully logged 1,770 flight hours, facilitating the transport of over 38,000 passengers and 900 tonnes of cargo.
In addition to the aircraft, this procurement includes a comprehensive logistics support package, featuring spare parts for both planes, alongside training programs for flight crews and maintenance personnel. This will ensure optimal performance and longevity of the fleet.
This acquisition addresses the immediate need for reliable air transport capabilities, critical for supporting operations and fostering development in the remote northern regions of Mali.
