Rockwell Collins Secures $103 Million Deal to Enhance UH-60M Avionics Systems

The U.S. Army has partnered with the renowned American avionics company Rockwell-Collins to secure avionics support services and essential materials for the UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters.

This contract, revealed by the Department of Defense on Monday, focuses on providing the multifunction display avionics suite specifically tailored for the UH-60M mission design series and its variants.

The project is scheduled for a five-year duration, with the anticipated completion date now set for September 15, 2025. The overall budget for this upgrade program has increased to an estimated $103.6 million, as stated by the Department of Defense.

The UH-60M helicopters are produced at Sikorsky’s manufacturing facility located in Stratford, Connecticut.

As a versatile asset in the military, the Black Hawk helicopter is often termed the “workhorse” of Army aviation. It serves as the primary tactical transport helicopter for the U.S. Army, with around 1,200 UH-60s currently in operation across 30 allied and partner nations.

The UH-60M Black Hawk is a medium-lift, rotary-wing helicopter expertly designed and manufactured by Sikorsky to align with contemporary warfighting requirements. This modernized variant of the UH-60 enhances operational effectiveness and adaptability.
