
Rotron Aerospace Ltd., a UK based advanced defence technology company specialising in propulsion systems, engines, and unmanned aviation platforms, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LIG Nex1 Co., Ltd., one of the Republic of Korea’s leading defence corporations, to collaborate on the development, integration, and future export of next generation unmanned aerial systems.
The agreement, signed at Rotron’s headquarters in Dorset, establishes a strategic partnership focused on the Medium UAV Common Platform (MUCP) programme, follow on and derivative projects, and a wide range of Republic of Korea and international initiatives where Rotron’s aero propulsion systems and aviation platforms can be applied.
Under the MoU, which is effective until 2032, the two companies will work closely to combine Rotron’s advanced propulsion technologies with LIG Nex1’s proven capabilities in system architecture, integration, and testing. The partnership aims to accelerate development timelines, strengthen sovereign capability, and position both companies for long term success in the Korean, Pacific Rim, and global export markets.
