IDET 2025: Unleashing SABRE – The Future of Tactical Excellence in Special Operations

Arquus Demonstrates Its Expertise at IDET 2025 in the Czech Republic The IDET trade fair commenced today in the Czech Republic, uniting prominent European defense entities. Arquus is showcasing its offerings for ground forces, showcasing a robust dedication to enhancing its local engagement and addressing the unique requirements of Czech military personnel. The LEV, SABRE, the standard for special operations illustrates Arquus’ proficiency in tactical mobility and protective measures for rapid response teams. It is displayed in the configuration intended for the 43rd Parachute Regiment based in Chrudim, directly reflecting the operational demands of the Czech forces.

Introducing SABRE: an advanced light patrol vehicle, meticulously crafted for elite units and special operations. It embodies a clear objective: to equip operators engaged in the most challenging missions with a dependable, agile, powerful, and completely adaptable tactical platform.

Engineered for Elite Units in Challenging Operations

Special operations forces function in rigorous environments, frequently working autonomously and deep in unsecured territories, whether urban or desert, around the clock. Their missions necessitate stealth, mobility, firepower, resilience, and a substantial payload capacity. The SABRE you see now fulfills these precise criteria.

Leveraging Arquus’ extensive background serving the French Army and various allied forces globally, SABRE is already deployed in different special operations units. It is NATO-certified, ensuring interoperability and conformity with the highest operational benchmarks.

The SABRE can accommodate up to 7 fully equipped operators, with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 11 tons, while transporting a substantial array of equipment, weaponry, ammunition, and communications systems. Its modular structure supports primary armaments such as a remote-controlled turret, alongside mission-specific systems like electronic warfare, long-range reconnaissance, laser targeting, satellite communications, or jamming capabilities.

SABRE: Enhanced for Performance and Autonomy

Regarding performance, the SABRE is driven by a robust 260 hp engine. It boasts a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 4×4 drivetrain, delivering remarkable mobility. The vehicle is equipped with rigid axles, springs, and dampers, a wheelbase of 4.1 meters, and 365/80 R20 tires with run-flat capability, ensuring stability and performance across all terrains, even at full capacity. The SABRE is also crafted for longevity and autonomy. It is outfitted with critical systems for extended operations such as:

  • Cabin heating for extreme conditions, primarily to facilitate engine start-up in severely cold weather, down to -32°C
  • A battery management system
  • A 310 A alternator for powering all onboard systems
  • A CTIS tire pressure management system
  • An integrated spare wheel

Ergonomics, Reliability, and Customized Adaptability

However, beyond its technical specifications, it is SABRE’s design ethos that distinguishes it. Crafted by and for operators, the vehicle places a strong emphasis on ergonomics, usability, and battlefield functionality. It is entirely customizable and configurable to fulfill specific operational needs and engagement contexts.

SABRE is fitted with two independent fuel tanks, providing it with an extended operational range in the field. If one tank becomes compromised, the vehicle can continue its mission. It also features a dual electrical system to boost reliability.

The vehicle displayed here at IDET has been developed in close collaboration with our local partner VTÚ, tailored to meet the expectations of the Czech military authorities. This partnership reflects Arquus’ commitment to building a robust local presence, delivering not only advanced technology but also support and tailored solutions to meet national requirements.

SABRE embodies Arquus’ vision for special operations forces: stealth, firepower, agility, autonomy, and complete mission adaptability. It is a tactical supremacy asset, designed to assist the most dedicated soldiers in their most sensitive and demanding tasks.
