“RTX’s Raytheon Expands Presence in the Middle East with Cutting-Edge MS-110 Multi-Spectral Reconnaissance Pod”
Raytheon, a division of RTX, has secured a significant reconnaissance system enhancement agreement for a military aviation client in the Middle East area. This marks the 12thnation within the Middle East and North Africa region to deploy Raytheon’s cutting-edge multi-spectral reconnaissance pods.
The contract, which will be executed through U.S. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) channels, focuses on modernizing current DB-110 Electric Optic/Infrared pods crafted for high-speed jet operations, encompassing F-15 and F-16 platforms, to the sophisticated MS-110 configuration while providing enhanced ground station exploitation capabilities linked to the SCI-Toolset software suite.
The MS-110 represents a comprehensive upgrade to the highly effective DB-110, initially launched in 2010. The MS-110 delivers round-the-clock, broad-area, long-range imagery coverage in true color. Additionally, it facilitates a range of advanced techniques, such as camouflage mitigation, near-real-time data link functionality, and can capture images through natural and battlefield obstructions.
As a complete ‘end-to-end’ solution, an MS-110 program encompasses advanced mission planning computers as well as the firm’s SCI-Toolset suite of ground station exploitation software. A state-of-the-art ‘on-demand’ data link will be integrated, significantly enhancing the system’s effectiveness for indications and warning missions during heightened tensions or ongoing military engagements to streamline and enhance imagery analysis and reporting.
