“RTX and Raytheon Unveil Innovative MS-110 Recon Pod, Strengthening Middle East Operations”
Raytheon, a segment of RTX, has secured a major agreement for the enhancement of reconnaissance systems for a military aviation customer in the Middle East region. This signifies the 12th nation within the Middle East and North Africa territory to implement Raytheon’s state-of-the-art multi-spectral reconnaissance pods.
The deal, which will be carried out via U.S. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) channels, centers on updating current DB-110 Electric Optic/Infrared pods designed for high-speed jet operations, including F-15 and F-16 platforms, to the advanced MS-110 version while delivering improved ground station exploitation features connected to the SCI-Toolset software suite.
The MS-110 constitutes a thorough enhancement to the efficient DB-110, first introduced in 2010. This upgraded system offers continuous, expansive, long-range imagery coverage in true color. Furthermore, it enables a variety of sophisticated methods, such as camouflage detection, near-real-time data link capabilities, and can capture images through natural and battlefield obstacles.
As an all-inclusive ‘end-to-end’ solution, the MS-110 program integrates advanced mission planning computers along with the firm’s SCI-Toolset suite of ground station exploitation software. A cutting-edge ‘on-demand’ data link will be incorporated, significantly boosting the system’s efficiency for indication and warning missions during periods of increased tension or ongoing military operations to streamline and enhance imagery analysis and reporting.
